BUYERS GUIDE 6/7/26: SHOP DECKS!
Shop decks are a must in these trying times! Its also a good choice… to represent the city you love as well as the shop you love, shop boards to me have more of a connection to a skater more of a skaters roots, because you could buy a Violet board, or a Frog board, teams and brands in the broader current skate culture your maybe inspired by or maybe looking up to growing up as skater, which is valid! But… you could equally buy the shop board! which represents the homies, the community, your city, your local park… all things that are part of your little immediate world, on this little corner off the coast of Lake Michigan!
Shout out to all the shops of Chicago & Chicagoland and abroad! Skate shops are important to the heart beat of skateboarding!

STILL PUSHING: A RETROSPECTIVE CURRICULUM |A SKATEBOARDING DOCUMENTARY by STAN NALEWSKI

This Documentary, is a really interesting deep dive, into the scene and crew of a Chicagoland area skatepark, Roselle Skate Park, seemingly set in the early 2010s…
Whats interesting is that Chicago is such a melting pot of so many dudes from surrounding suburbs and cities different up bridgings, different perspectives. many ppl like Marisa Dal Santo, are from a chicago suburb and have definitely put work in the city and abroad as well, and I feel like in-terms of a documentary like this, they have their own spots, their own scene their stories to tell as an appendage coming off of the chicago skate scene… its nice to see different perspectives of different people around Chicagoland and their unique perspective in the suburbs vs the city… its a good watch! Five stars!

TIMMY JOHNSON FOR PRIVADA CIGARS
Ive seen timmy around Chicago for a while at spots, at Uprise, just saw him walking in Ukrainian Village maybe a month ago, very chill dude, a type of dude your lucky to be friends with! I could see this chill attitude with his sponsors as well like DVS footwear, this right here is an example of making their “career” or just place in skating work for them I feel, and collaborating with things that makes sense, this makes sense because bro loves cigars! of course it will click! Lol, Big ups to Timmy and Privada Cigars!
